Ruth really enjoys portrait photography – and that love of the genre really shines through in the quality of her work.
Her portraits are considered and engaging, often capturing that illusive essence we all hope for in a photograph but rarely find. As well as using her trusted Canon equipment she also likes to do portraits using the traditional Rolleiflex camera.
Portraiture is a strong presence in many of her projects and What Women Believe is a moving example of Ruth’s craftsmanship.
Ruth did a photo shoot of my family last summer. Her gentle manner meant everyone relaxed which resulted in very natural and affectionate pictures. Her technical expertise and instinct for a good image meant that we finished with a very stylish set of shots which did not look staged. She is so much more than a family photographer – she is an artist with a quirky and whimsical take on the world and her pictures are artworks in themselves. With Ruth you get pictures of your family which are bespoke and original. I felt it was a great investment.
